Officials with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent have opened the Tilbury Arena as a warming centre to help residents still affected by power outages across the municipality.
In a statement released late Thursday, officials say they will continue to assess the situation as the evening progresses and take any additional steps needed to ensure the safety of our residents. Further updates will be provided on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Municipal officials say they are confident that hydro crews are doing everything they can and will continue restoration efforts throughout the evening and into Friday.
