
No injuries have been reported following a major fire in downtown Tilbury.
58 firefighters from six stations responded to a section of Queen Street North around 7 o’clock Friday evening. In all, 18 trucks and other emergency vehicles were on scene to help battle the flames in the building that housed businesses on the first floor and apartments above.
Luckily, no one was hurt in the blaze, however damage to the building is extensive with a collapsed roof along with fire and water damage.
Displaced residents were provided support through Chatham-Kent Victim Services and Chatham-Kent Police.
Damage has been estimated at $2-million.
The investigation into what sparked the fire remains ongoing.
