A Tilbury man has been charged for allegedly luring a child online.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers with the Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation earlier this month after it was learned that various social media platforms were being used to lure a child under 16 for a sexual purpose.
As a result, officers located and arrested a suspect in Chatham on April 4. The 38-year-old Tilbury man is now charged in connection with the incident and has been held for a bail hearing.
Authorities said the victim has been offered the necessary support.
