An early morning call in Chatham has landed a Tilbury man behind bars.
Police responded to a Grand Avenue East property shortly before 2:30 this morning to conduct a property check and say the accused was found and arrested on an outstanding warrant over a missed court date for weapons charges.
As police tried to take the man into custody, authorities say he became confrontational and assaultive. A taser was deployed and the accused taken into custody.
The 43-year-old was taken to place headquarters and had assaulting a police officer added to his list of charges. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
