Tilbury Woman Charged After Crashing Into Ditch

A single-vehicle collision has led to impaired driving charges for a Tilbury woman.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to Grove Road in Tilbury shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday after a vehicle left the road and entered a six-foot ditch that was partially filled with water.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Believing the driver was showing signs of impairment, officers took her into custody. She was taken to police headquarters for breath tests, which were allegedly above the legal limit.

As a result, a 27-year-old Tilbury woman has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. She was later released from custody with an April court date.
