Time is Ticking for Public Input on Hydro One’s Newest Transmission Line

Preferred route for Hydro One’s Longwood to Lakeshore Transmission Line.

Local residents who want to weigh in on a new transmission line that will snake through Chatham-Kent have less than a week to have their say on the project.

Public feedback is being accepted for the Environmental Study Report (ESR) on Hydro One’s Longwood to Lakeshore Transmission Line.

This proposed project includes two new single-circuit 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission lines from Longwood Transformer Station (TS) located in the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc to Lakeshore TS in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

The draft ESR outlines the route selection process, community engagement, and how potential environmental and socio-economic effects will be avoided, minimized or restored.

The report has been published online, but hard copies are available at Chatham-Kent Public Library branches in Chatham, Bothwell, and Tilbury.

The deadline for feedback is Wednesday, October 15.
