The P.A.C.E. program’s days at WDSS are numbered if long term funding can’t be found ASAP. wdss

The Partnership, Achievement, Cultural Awareness and Engagement program aims to help at-risk students get the support they need so they can focus in the classroom.

According to coordinator Ken O’Neil, the program could end in January.

“We have approximately 60 students in the program,” O’Neil says. “We see probably 30 or more students a week, continuing ongoing support or implementing new plans. It’s something that just can’t be a part time program.”

To find funding, the school is working with a number of local organizations and municipal officials.

The program has been running for the last 11 years.
