A Chatham-Kent councillor expressed his frustration with online meetings, at last night’s budget deliberation.
Chatham councillor Michael Bondy said council is not serving the public by having online meetings.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, Chatham-Kent council has not met in-person since March of 2020.
“Let’s get back to live council where I think it’s much more effective,” Bondy said.
Bondy said he hopes to speak to administration about having council meet in person, noting that Chatham-Kent owns 10 arenas and a convention centre where meetings can be held with social distancing.
