The Special Olympics Torch Run makes its way to Chatham-Kent this afternoon.

The “Flame of Hope” is being carried across Ontario by members of law enforcement agencies, and will make a stop at the park in Pain Court at 1 o’clock.

The run aims to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Ontario, which provides sports training and competition for people with an intellectual disability.

Last year’s Torch Run raised $10,000.
