Tips for your furry Friends!

Tips for Pet Protection

  1. Keep Pets Indoors: To shield your pets from potential confusion or distress, consider keeping them indoors during the eclipse. By creating a familiar and secure environment, you can minimize their exposure to unfamiliar sights and sounds.
  2. Provide Comfort and Distraction: Keep your pets comfortable and engaged by offering familiar toys, treats, or comforting companionship during the eclipse. By providing a sense of security and distraction, you can help alleviate any anxiety or unease they may experience.
  3. Avoid Encouraging Skyward Gazing: While it may be tempting to share the awe-inspiring sight of the eclipse with your furry friends, refrain from encouraging them to look directly at the sun. Instead, redirect their attention to safer and more soothing activities indoors.
  4. Limit Outdoor Activities: If you must venture outdoors with your pets during the eclipse, exercise caution and minimize their exposure to the sudden changes in lighting. Avoid prolonged outdoor activities, particularly if your pets display signs of discomfort or confusion.
  5. Be Mindful While Driving: If you’re driving during the eclipse, exercise caution and vigilance on the roads. Be mindful of potential wildlife crossings or erratic behaviour from animals startled by the eclipse’s sudden darkness.
