Today is the day for the official United Way of Chatham-Kent touchdown, putting the wraps on the 2018 campaign. 
The event will start with a breakfast while the formal program will begin at 7:45am at the Links of Kent.
Not only will the campaign total be announced, but the not for profit will announce a new community initiative and direction as well.
Last week, United Way officials said they’d reached the $1.43 million mark of their $1.559 million goal.
The 2017 campaign brought in $1.687 million.
