George Sims is celebrating 25 years as Chatham-Kent’s official Town Crier.
He was named the Town Crier in 1991 at the Festival of Nations.
“Since that time we’ve traveled to Europe, we’ve been to Australia, we’ve been to lots of places in the United States,” Sims says. “It’s been mind boggling what we’ve learned and what we’ve been able to do for Chatham-Kent taking the face of Chatham-Kent to other places.”
Sims says he’s traveled the world attending various Town Crier Competitions with several titles to his credit.
