Traffic Begins Moving Across the Ambassador Bridge Again

Traffic is once again moving across the Ambassador Bridge this morning after police moved in on protesters in Windsor over the weekend.

Windsor’s Police Chief announced on Sunday over two dozen protesters had been arrested and a dozen vehicles were towed from the scene.

The protest at Canada’s busiest border crossing began almost a week ago, following the lead of those in Ottawa voicing opposition to COVID-related mandates.

In Ottawa, the mayor’s office reported “backchannel negotiations” with protest leaders to move out of residential areas and focus their efforts around Parliament Hill.

Meantime, protesters continue to block off the westbound 402 between Nauvoo Road and Forest Road. The section of highway heading towards the Bluewater Bridge has been closed since last Wednesday.
