Traffic Stop Leads to Multiple Charges in Chatham

A simple traffic stop led to a long list of charges against a 47 year old Chatham man.

The officer originally stopped the man on St. Clair Street in Chatham for having the wrong plates on his vehicle.

As it turns out, the man was bound by conditions of the ignition interlock program but his vehicle did not have the device.

He was also charged with failing to surrender his license, ownership, and insurance.

The suspect’s vehicle has been impounded for 45 days and he’s scheduled to appear in court in April.
