A Chatham man will be without his vehicle for more than a month following a traffic stop on Highway 40.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped a passenger vehicle on the highway near Claymore Line at around 9:30 p.m. on August 25, after receiving a notification from an Automated Licence Plate Recognition system.

Following an investigation, it was determined that the man behind the wheel had been prohibited from driving.

As a result, a 22-year-old from Chatham is charged with driving while prohibited, driving while under suspension, and using a plate that isn’t authorized for the vehicle.

The man’s vehicle will also be impounded for 45 days.
