Traffic Stop On Hwy. 401 Leads To Impaired Charge

A Windsor man has been charged after a police stopped a suspicious vehicle on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

The Ontario Provincial Police said an officer on general patrol performed a traffic stop on the highway at around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Believing the driver had previously consumed alcohol, the officer conducted a roadside screening test. The man was then arrested and taken to police headquarters.

A 43-year-old Windsor man has now been charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. He was later released from custody with an April court date.
