Traffic Stop Turns Up Drugs, Other Offences

A traffic stop in Wallaceburg has led to a slew of charges for a Dresden man.

Police pulled over a vehicle on Wallace Street yesterday afternoon, and discovered the driver was wanted for stealing a dirt bike and had been suspended from driving for unpaid fines.

While the man was being arrested, officers also found some suspected meth, realized the plates weren’t registered to the vehicle, and found cannabis inside the car.

The 24-year-old was released with a couple of dates in court in December.

On the charge of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and drug possession, the accused will appear in court December 10.

A December 16th court date has been set to address charges of driving with cannabis readily available, driving while under suspension, use plate not authorized for the vehicle and driving with no validation on plate.
