Transit Funding for CK

The province is handing out money as part of its plan to revamp transit systems across southwestern Ontario.

MPP Rick Nicholls says Chatham-Kent will receive $500,000 in funding to improve the existing transportation service and provide accessible transportation options for low-income families and those in rural areas.

That’s on top of more than $965,000 in gas tax funding, which is typically earmarked for public transit.

Meantime, an online survey on the province’s regional transit plan continues – the deadline for submissions is March 17th.
