Charges have been laid against a Port Lambton man after his pickup truck was hit by a train.

Chatham-Kent Police received a call just before 1 o’clock Saturday morning and say the back end of the truck had been hit by the train on Base Line Road in Thamesville and pushed off to the side.

The driver, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A police drone was deployed to ensure there were no other injured parties.

CP Police arrived on scene and took over the investigation.

Authorities say the driver will be charged under the Railway Safety Act.
