A Caledon man is now facing trafficking charges after 185 lbs of cocaine was seized at the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia back in December.

The Canada Border Services Agency said a commercial truck had entered Canada at the border crossing on December 14, 2022, and was sent for secondary inspection. During the inspection, border officials discovered 84 bricks of suspected cocaine in the vehicle’s trailer.

As a result, the driver was arrested and handed over to the RCMP. The 55-year-old man from Caledon is now charged with the importation of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The matter remains before the courts in Sarnia.
