Three truck drivers have been charged after a chain-reaction crash on the 401.

Chatham-Kent OPP say a line of transports were heading westbound near Victoria Road around 8:30 yesterday morning when the snowy conditions forced the lead truck to slow down.

That sparked a chain reaction collision involving four trucks in total.

Three of the transports had to be towed from the scene, but no one was hurt.

Three drivers, from Bowmanville, Wilsonville, and Caledon respectively, have all been charged with following too closely.

The OPP say all drivers should allow for extra time to get to and from their destination, especially when the weather turns poor, and check the forecast before heading out.
