Trudeau Puts A Quarter Of A Billion Into Agriculture

The Prime Minister was focusing on agriculture and the food supply chain during Tuesday’s briefing in Ottawa.

He announced the feds are good for $252 million dollars for Canadian farmers and others making their living from the sector.

It’s for any of these people impacted by COVID-19.

It breaks down to $77 million for food processors purchase protective equipment.

$125 million for beef and cattle producers who are raising more animals that can be processed so as a result will have to keep them longer.

Also $50 million for the feds to buy surplus and pass it on to food banks around the country.


Canadian Federation of Agriculture President Mary Robinson told CTV news it falls far short of what is needed.
