Thursday, September 30th is the first National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.
The day honours the lost children and survivors of residential schools, their families and communities.
The National Day for Truth & Reconciliation is a day for public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools and is a vital component of the reconciliation process.
99.1 will be recognizing the holiday as a day off for staff including our news room and on air announcers.
We will have some special programming on the air and invite local residents to join us in an opportunity for education, truth and reconciliation.
