Local residents appear to be in favour of closing down the Pegley Court tunnel near the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
A community meeting was held last night to gauge public support.
One Siskind Court resident says she’s very much in favour of the plan.
“Too many people are under the bridge, especially at night,” she says. “I think was last week that they had a big fight, and that’s kind of scary so close to your house.”
Authorities have seen a rise in suspicious or criminal activity in the tunnel underneath the Lacroix Street Bridge over the last few years.
