A police pursuit from Blenheim to Chatham resulted in the arrest of two Chatham-Kent men on Friday afternoon.
Police say Anthony Peterkin of Chatham and Kenneth Shoemaker are charged with Flight From Police, Dangerous Driving and multiple other Highway Traffic Act infractions. Peterkin is also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance after crystal meth was found during a search of the vehicle.
While on patrol near Allison Line and Fargo Road outside of Blenheim, police observed a vehicle with unattached plates believed to be stolen.
The vehicle failed to stop for police and fled down Middle Line towards Charing Cross Road.
A spike belt was deployed on Horton Line, causing the fleeing vehicle to continue on a rim and flat tire.
The pursuit continued into Chatham and was termindated due to safety concerns after the suspects ran a red light.
The vehicle came to a stop on Grand Ave West where multiple people fled on foot. After a search of the area and the help of a drone, a male suspect was located.
After further investigation, police located and arrested the second suspect.
Both were released with a future court date of July 7, 2020.
