Two people have been arrested following an early morning theft complaint.
Chatham-Kent Police were called shortly before 12:30 Friday morning about a man and woman trying to steal a trailer on Sass Road in Chatham.
The accused are said to have left the area in a vehicle, and were found by police near the Scane Road 401 overpass.
Authorities say the male suspect tried to run, but was quickly taken into custody.
Police say the vehicle they were driving had been reported stolen from Toronto back in May.
A 51-year-old man of Grand Pointe was charged with theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with release order.
A 50-year-old Windsor woman was charged with theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and facilitating a breach. Both were held in custody for a bail hearing.
