A man and a woman are facing drug and weapon charges after police raided a home on Walpole Island.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers executed a search warrant Friday morning at a residence on Tecumseh Road, and arrested two people.
Suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine were also seized at the home, along with a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.
As a result, 39-year-old Loni Ann Greenbird and 34-year-old Michael Isaac were both charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order and, possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime.
Isaac was also charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with a probation order.
The two Walpole Island residents were held in custody pending a bail hearing on Saturday.
Police have been working to address the opioid-related crisis on the First Nation after Walpole Island declared a state of emergency due to the current drug epidemic.
