A pair of lead-footed drivers won’t be getting behind the wheel any time soon after being pulled over on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped a vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway at around 4 p.m. on May 24, after it was clocked going 159 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone.
As a result, an 18-year-old Kingsville resident was charged with stunt driving and failing to surrender a licence.
A few hours later, at around 7:30 p.m., officers stopped another vehicle in the eastbound lanes for driving 56 kilometres over the limit in the 100 km/h zone.
A 34-year-old London resident was also charged with stunt driving.
Both drivers were also issued a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.
