Chatham-Kent is looking to team up with a local telecommunications giant in a million-dollar naming rights sponsorship deal.
During its online meeting Monday evening, CK Council will discuss having the municipality enter a 10-year agreement with TekkSavvy, which would see the company spend $100,000 annually to have its name on both the Third Street Bridge and Fifth Street Bridge in downtown Chatham.
This is the first naming rights deal for the municipality as councillors look for new revenue streams.
If approved by council, the name change would take effect by July 22, when the Third Street Bridge following more than a year of construction.
