Two Chatham-Kent residents who are COVID-19 positive are facing charges for breaking their home quarantine.
Chatham-Kent Police say they have served a “Form-22” to each patient. The order is issued by the Medical Officer of Health under the Health Protection and Promotion Act when a communicable disease poses an imminent health risk to the public.
Failure to follow these orders can result in a $5,000 fine for each day or occurrence the order is breached.
C-K Police reminds residents to follow your health care provider’s instructions. You have a moral obligation to the people you share this community with. If you test positive for Covid-19 and choose to disregard your personal responsibilities you are liable under the law.
