Two new outbreaks of COVID-19 have been declared at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

According to public health, two cases have been identified in the dialysis unit, and three more connected to lab services at the Chatham hospital.

One more COVID patient has been admitted to hospital, bringing the number of CK residents with the virus in care at CKHA to two.

There has also been a confirmed case at Wallaceburg District Secondary School. Public Health is working with the school community to notify staff and students who may have been in potential contact with the virus.

In all, Public Health has confirmed 18 new cases since the last update on Friday, bringing the total number of active cases to 25.

Neighbouring Windsor-Essex is reporting 51 new cases today, while Lambton County has 22 new infections.

A spike in the provincial numbers with 1631 new cases today along with another 10 deaths linked to the virus. It’s the highest daily increase across Ontario in more than a month.
