A slight increase in Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers today, but two more outbreaks declared.
Officials with Public Health are reporting eight new infections and five cases resolved, raising the active caseload to 55.
Outbreaks have been declared at McNaughton avenue Public School and St Ursula Catholic School.
That’s in addition to three other school-based outbreaks, including Chatham Christian Elementary, Tilbury Area Public School, and school bus students at Tecumseh Public School.
The church outbreak declared on November 15th has now increased to 13 total cases, and there are just two cases associated with Tilbury Manor Nursing Home.
Two patients are being treated for COVID-19 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
Of the residents who have contracted COVID since July 1st, 73% have been unvaccinated, just under 14% have been fully vaccinated, and a shade over 11% have either been partially vaccinated, not yet fully protected, or had an undetermined vaccination status.
