Two more Chatham-Kent residents have passed away from COVID-19. 

Public Health confirmed the deaths today.

A man in his 70’s died on Monday and a woman in her 50s died on Friday.

Both had been hospitalized prior to their deaths.

That brings the death toll in the municipality since the pandemic began to 12.

There were 4 new cases and 4 resolved cases dropping the active case load to 71.

One Chatham-Kent resident remains in hospital.

Another person has died in Lambton, the 51st in the pandemic.

The active case load is down 21 to 160.

In Windsor-Essex they announced 126 new cases over the last 3 days with an active case load of 433 .

The numbers from the province show another big increase today with 3,065 new cases.

Of more concern to the health community, the number of patients in ICU has topped 500 for the first time.

There are currently 510 patients in the intensive care units across Ontario.
