Two more Chatham-Kent residents have tested positive for COVID-19 – likely spread through the community.
Public Health says two men, aged 40 and 45 years old, are self-isolating at their homes.
However, officials say unlike the previous two cases in the municipality, these are not connected to any travel outside Canada.
However, Chief Medical Officer Dr David Colby says the two cases are linked to one another.
Colby also says the increase in positive cases was expected.
“Our goal is to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We need all Chatham-Kent residents and businesses to do their part,” Colby says. “Please continue to practice social distancing, follow good hand hygiene, and avoid unnecessary trips outside of your home.”
Chatham-Kent now has four confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
