A high school student has been awarded for her leadership and academic excellence in the classroom.
Ursuline College Chatham graduate Georgia Pitblado has been selected to receive a $120,000 Schulich Leader Scholarship to study engineering at Western University.
“I’m beyond grateful and humbled to be named a Schulich Leader,” said Pitblado in a news release. “This scholarship opens doors I never dreamed possible and gives me the chance to pursue engineering with the support and encouragement of an incredible national network. I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned so far and apply it to challenges that can help shape our future.”
Pitblado was selected by UCC’s nomination committee for her academic and extracurricular achievements. She is also the second UCC student to receive the Schulich Leader Scholarship, which is one of the largest undergraduate scholarships in the country.
Schulich Leader scholarships are awarded annually to 100 high school graduates enrolling in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics undergraduate program at 20 partner universities in Canada.
