Thirteen mayors from communities in the Ukraine will be visiting Chatham-Kent next week.
The newly-elected mayors of Ukrainian amalgamated communities will be coming to Chatham-Kent to learn more about how Chatham-Kent has developed since amalgamation in 1998.
The visit is part of an international study tour organized by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
A second group of Ukrainian mayors will tour Prince Edward County in Eastern Ontario.
Municipal officials say that July 4th will be declared Ukraine Day in Chatham-Kent, with a ceremony and flag raising at the Civic Centre.
