A true mix of art and culture will be on display at a Chatham gallery later this week.
Chatham-Kent artist Bernie Hrytzak will be on hand to discuss his latest commission for a Ukrainian Culture Museum in Saskatchewan.
Hrytzak was commissioned by the Musée Ukraina in Saskatoon to design and create a one-of-a-kind book cover to feature in their museum. The panels for the front and back of the bookbinding feature Ukrainian cultural motifs.
Hrytzak will speak at ArtSpace in downtown Chatham this Thursday evening, discussing the rich tradition of Ukrainian design and how this work will help protect and support the legacy of this influential culture in Canada even as it is under threat in Europe.
The event is free and open to all ages.
