A surprise announcement for Hope Haven today means new beds, and a new coat of paint.

The Chatham based men’s shelter was unveiling a new kitchen, thanks to a donation by Unifor, when union president Jerry Dias delivered more good news. The union is replacing the beds, the furniture and the paint in the main sleeping area.

The kitchen reno cost $50,000 and was completed in about 10 days.

Hope Haven recently celebrated its 2nd birthday in December.
