hospiceThe Chatham-Kent Hospice has been given a big boost from a local utility.

Jodi Maroney, Executive Director for the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation says Union Gas is donating $20,000 towards the end-of-life care facility’s volunteer network initiatives.

“The money is going to be used to support all of our volunteer training, our current and our new,” says Maroney. “We have 211 volunteer trained and ready to go that are already supporting the hospice and we have about an additional 20 that are in the process of training.”

Volunteers at the hospice have donated over 6,700 hours since the facility opened in April.
