Funding from a local utility is providing support for volunteers at the Chatham-Kent Hospice.
Volunteer Coordinator, Melanie Watson, says Union Gas is donating $20,000 to the end-of-life care facility’s volunteer network initiatives.
“This money will help to provide the training and support for our volunteers because it’s important that they feel comfortable and confident in providing support for our families,” says Watson. “They help with cooking and baking, at our reception and admin work and social 1:1 visits for our residents and families.”
Close to 200 people give their time at the hospice.
