Raised through events like auctions and bake sales, the money goes towards the 2016 fundraising campaign, which has a goal of $1.9-million.

Tom Slager, the United Way’s Director of Resource Development with the United Way says they’re grateful for the support from Union Gas year after year.

“Every year Union Gas comes through for us big time, and this is just another example of that,” Slager says. “They account for so much of the campaign that it really does drive  everything else that we can do in this community. It really is one of the cornerstones of what we do in the campaign.”

Over 34 programs receive support from the United Way, benefiting more than 35-thousand people in Chatham-Kent.
