Some good news for Union Gas customers.
The utility has received approval from the Ontario Energy Board to adjust its rates for natural gas customres, with those of us in Southern Ontario seeing a decrease of about $28 a year, or 4% of the total gas bill.
These rate changes mean the average annual bill for a residential household will be about $783.
“Now that winter is here, Union Gas customers can expect an affordable and reliable supply of natural gas with no fill-ups needed even in the harshest winter months,” says Jim Redford, Vice President of business development and storage and transmission.
Customer rates are adjusted quarterly to reflect changes in the market price of natural gas supplies.
The decrease goes into effect January first.
