The clock is ticking for the 2019 United Way campaign.
Spokesman Tom Slager says they’re just a few percentage points away from their goal of 1.5 million dollars.
“We set a goal. We don’t set a needs joke, we set a goal we think we can make based on what the community is telling us, and usually that’s actually less than we need. Every year we have things that go well and other things that don’t go as well as you hope,” says Slager. This year is really touch and go. $1.5-million is going to be a bit of a struggle to make, so it would be really great of the community to step up and put us over the top.”
The campaign wraps up next Thursday.
Funds raised support as many as 40,000 people in the community through dozens of local programs and services.
