They are off and running with the 2018 United Way Campaign in Chatham-Kent.
They held a big party in Chatham on Friday night to announce this year’s fundraising goal.
Chair Caterina Dawson announced they are looking to raise $1,559,000 dollars.
45,000 residents in the region turned to a United Way funded program in 2017, and they were able to help support 30 organizations.
Their programs helped many different issues including poverty, addictions, mental illness, and physical disabilities.
Thanks to several local companies including Teksavvy and Union Gas they already $300,000 dollars in donation towards the goal.
