The United Way of Chatham-Kent has announced the resignation of its chief executive officer.

The agency announced on Friday that Barbara Palace had tendered her resignation effective immediately.

“We thank Barb for her hard work and caring, and wish her every success in all her future plans and endeavours,” said Chris Appleton, the acting president of the United Way of Chatham-Kent Board of Directors, in a news release.

No further explanation regarding Palace’s abrupt departure from the United Way has been provided.

Palace was named as CEO back in November 2021, before taking over the reins in January 2022. She was previously employed as the Executive Director of the Insurance Council of Manitoba, and has worked with various non-profit groups for over 25 years, including the United Way of Winnipeg.
