The United Way of Chatham-Kent is gearing up for another year of fundraising.
Director of Resource Development Tom Slager says they’ll be kicking off the 2018 campaign on September 7th.
“It’s a celebration – we celebrate before we start – but it’s knowing what we have to go through throughout the campaign time. It’s just a way to say thank you in advance to all the sponsors, donors, and volunteers, and it’s open to the public for $10 a ticket,” says Slager.
Last year’s campaign brought in $1.68 million to support its more than 30 member agencies across the municipality.
“It’s amazing to hear what people have gone through, and with just a little bit of help, how far they can come and what they can do. That’s what makes what we do so worth it,” Slager says.
This year’s campaign will kick-off with a celebration at The Kent in Chatham on September 7th.
