With a last minute push, the United Way of Sarnia Lambton is calling its annual campaign a success.
The organization set this year’s target at $1.9-million, and managed to raise just a hair more than that with the final total coming in at $1,904,765.
“There is no doubt that this was an extremely challenging year,” says Campaign chair Vicky Ducharme. “The campaign team changed its direction in December, knowing that the campaign was likely to miss the target. With the help of United Way volunteers that helped deliver pledge cards, made phone calls and visited area businesses, together we were able to reach the target.”
The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 18 local agencies and 36 programs and services.
As for the Chatham-Kent United Way, the agency is into the final few weeks of its campaign with a touchdown event slated for January 16th.
