As they plan for the future, staff with local United Way are gauging the success of some of the agency’s programs and services.

The United Way Windsor-Essex Chatham-Kent has released its 2024/25 Impact Report, showcasing the tangible difference made in the community with the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners.

“Residents’ voices are at the heart of everything we do,” said Lorraine Goddard, CEO United Way Windsor-Essex Chatham-Kent in a news release. “This report highlights how, together with our donors and partners, we can create positive change, helping those in need, and building a stronger Chatham-Kent.”

For example, the Period Promise campaign, held for the first time in Chatham-Kent, collected 1700 packages of menstrual products for those in need.

The 2-1-1 help line and staff at the Tilbury HELP Centre fielded 936 calls and connected 3368 area residents to support through the Tilbury food bank and housing, health, and other social agencies.

The On Track to Success program offers academic, mental health, social and financial support to marginalized youth. United Way officials say 98% of program participants graduated high school on time, and 87% of 2025 graduates were planning to enroll in a post-secondary program.

The report also outlines the next steps, including exploring a collective impact approach and the Cradle to Career (C2C) strategy, to connect programs, strengthen supports, and ensure sustainable, long-term positive impact in Chatham-Kent.
