Chatham-Kent has broken the 100 mark when it comes to active cases of COVID-19.

Public Health is reporting 19 new cases today and 14 resolutions, raising the active caseload to 103.

It’s the highest active case count in Chatham-Kent since mid-March. Less than 8% of those infected right now have been fully vaccinated.

There are now 10 COVID patients being treated in hospital, two of whom are in the ICU and none who have been fully vaccinated.

Three CKHA staff are currently off work due to testing positive for COVID-19 or being exposed to the virus.

The Health Alliance remains in outbreak mode after two linked cases were identified in the medicine unit at the Chatham hospital earlier this week.

And while the congregate living outbreak first reported on August 25th has now been declared over, there’s a new workplace outbreak with four confirmed cases.

Provincially, there are 554 new cases of COVID-19 today, 418 of which are among residents who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

375 people are being treated for the virus in hospitals across Ontario, plus another 194 patients in ICU.
