More cases of COVID-19 are surfacing in Chatham-Kent.
Officials with Public Health have identified 17 new infections and listed 11 cases as resolved. The active caseload is now up to 146.
Public Health is also keeping tabs on seven outbreaks, five involving schools, one church, and one manufacturing facility.
Officials at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance say there are 14 COVID-positive patients in care, seven of whom are in the intensive care unit and two on ventilators.
ICU occupancy sits at 70% as of this morning’s update, while the hospital’s medical, surgical, and critical care beds are just over 84% filled.
The average age of current COVID patients is 70 years. Only two of the 14 in-patients being treated for the virus have been fully vaccinated.
